Skin Type 2
Light skin, often with freckles. The skin rarely tans and gets sunburned easily. The time spent safely in the sun without risking redness or sunburn is under 20 minutes. Skin type II is often found in people with blonde or light brown hair. Generally associated with blue, green, or light gray eye color.
Skin Type 3
This skintype tans easily in summer but can still sunburn. Safety time (the time you can expose the untanned skin to sunlight without risking redness or sunburn) is about 30 minutes. Usually found in people with blond or brown hair and brown or gray eyes. Skintype III rarely has freckles.
Skin Type 4
Light brown to olive skin and dark brown hair. Typically brown to dark brown eye color. Skintype IV tans easily in the summer and rarely burns severely. Safety time (the time you can expose the untanned skin to sunlight without risking redness or sunburn) is around 40 minutes.
Skin Type 5
Dark brown skin, tans easily and deeply. Rarely sunburns - still sunburns do happen. Safety time (the time you can expose the untanned skin to sunlight without risking redness or sunburn) is around 60 minutes. Typically found in people with dark brown to black hair.
Skin Type 6
Dark brown to black skin. Rarely sunburns, safety time (the time you can expose the untanned skin to sunlight without risking redness or sunburn) is about 80 minutes. Typically found in people with dark brown to black hair and dark brown eyes.
